what our week looks like
Senior Badminton - Watson Hall
Monday 9.30am - 12.30pm
Our first badminton club was formed in June 1929 and over many years has become a regular and well attended fixture. The current Senior Badminton Club on Monday mornings is a great way to socialize, keep fit, and have fun. People of all ages and skill levels are welcome to come along and join up. Whether you are a seasoned player or completely new to the game, Senior Badminton welcomes you with open arms. Our members enjoy the challenge of the sport and the chance to make some new friends. You are very welcome to join us and try your hand!
C'Mon In - Minor Hall
Monday 10.30am - 12.00pm
C’mon In is a social group established after Covid-19 to help alleviate some of the loneliness felt by members of the congregation and community. We provide a good chat over a cup of tea and organise regular outings and social events. It's a great way to build new friendships and strengthen existing ones.
We believe that it’s important to have a sense of community and that socializing with others is important for mental health and wellbeing. Whether it’s out for walk or a visit to a garden centre, come and be a part of our extended family.
Indoor Bowls - Watson Hall
Tuesday 7.00pm - 10.00pm
Dedicated to the game of indoor carpet bowls, our club is open to all ages and abilities, from existing players to those who are new to the sport. We strive to create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for everyone, and there's always time for a good catch up. You will always be made welcome and you’ll quickly find yourself in a lovely friendly atmosphere. Whether you’re looking to play competitively or just casually socialize, our club is the perfect place to do both. We look forward to meeting you!
Busy Bees - Watson Hall
Wednesday10.00am - 11.30am
At Busy Bees, we understand how difficult it can be looking after babies and toddlers. That’s why we've created a warm and welcoming place for them with their parents and carers to come together for fun and games, stories and adventures, and a good cup of tea and chat. We’re here to provide a supportive community for everyone looking after little ones so you can make friends and build relationships, as well as have fun with your tots. So, if you’re feeling at all isolated or just want to get out of the house, make some new friends and share experiences, Busy Bees is the place to bee!
Craft and Chat - Minor Hall
Wednesday 2.00pm - 4.00pm (alternate weeks)
Craft and Chat is another of our social groups dedicated to bringing together people of all ages and backgrounds who are interested in crafts such as sewing, knitting, and crochet. We are a welcoming and informal group that encourages members to build and share knowledge and experience with one another, while also providing the perfect opportunity to catch up over a cup of tea. Our aim is to foster lasting relationships and provide a safe and comfortable place for members to share together.
Rainbows - Choir Room
Thursday 6.00pm - 7.00pm
Rainbows is all about developing self-confidence, building friendships, learning new things, and having fun. Members get their hands dirty with arts and crafts, get in touch with nature and play games. It's all about learning by doing. Rainbows is for all girls aged four to seven and follows a diverse and engaging programme where girls can take part in lots of different activities with others their own age. Our fantastic volunteers will be there to support them right from the start. There’s a place for your daughter whatever she needs.
Brownies - Watson Hall
Wednesday 6.30pm - 8.00pm
Brownies welcomes all girls from 7 to 10 years old for nonstop fun, learning and adventure. It’s full of firsts: she might grow her first plant, cook her first cake, put up (and take down) her first tent, light her first fire, go on her first fun-packed weekend away with guiding friends. With a helpful hand from our encouraging volunteers, she’ll explore her creative side, get out into the great outdoors, and start learning to look after herself, others and the world we live in. There’s something for every girl at Brownies, and plenty of moments she’ll never forget.
Guides - Watson Hall
Wednesday 7.30pm - 9.00pm
Guides is a relaxed, welcoming space where you can have fun, learn and be yourself with good friends from 10 to 14 years old. A place where you can explore the things you love and do stuff you’ve never done before. Where else can you think up a new sport, make a new perfume, cook over a campfire, design an advertising campaign, have a mocktail party, raise money for a charity you believe in? At Guides, you can do all of this and loads more.
The World Around Us
Restarting 10 October - Thursday 10.30am - 12.00pm
The World Around Us is a social gathering where individuals come together to connect, share ideas and learn from each other. Our events feature a cup of tea or coffee, followed by a thought for the day and then an informative talk. Themes are interesting and varied and range from topical interests, political speakers, scientific experts, and more. Our goal is to create a safe and comfortable space where people of all ages can come to share their perspectives and learn from each other. Come and join us - everyone welcome.

Choir - Choir Room
Thursday 8.00pm - 10.00pm
Our Church Choir is a great way to get involved in music and singing. We are a SATB (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) church robed choir that sings classical and modern anthems, traditional hymns and modern praise. We also hold special concerts, and each year have a traditional nine lessons and carols by candlelight. We take our music seriously, but not ourselves! If you can read music and sing in tune, you are very welcome to join us. Besides being a great way to make friends, singing in a choir is a fantastic way to promote mental health and wellbeing. We create an encouraging and supportive community of singers who come together to make great music.
